WELCOME TO MY HOMEPAGE
As An Independent Care Provider
I am dedicated to delivering reliable in-home health care and companionship. I have twenty-year's experience and I am semi-retired. I created this website to demonstrate who I am and answer some common questions about private-duty home care. I specialize in alleviating challenges through assisting seniors with everyday activities. This is not a business; I am a sole caregiver continuing to reach out to help those in need. I have part-time openings and spot care openings when intermittent care is needed. Please contact me to discuss your circumstances. I'm here to help.

The Benefits of My Private-Duty Care
* Verifiable references: Prior employment at retirement communities in special care geriatrics, as well as family references of current and past clients. I received my Certified Nursing and Med-aide training at Good Samaritan and Avera Prince of Peace.

* Familiarity. I know the importance of being a compatible caregiver for someone who prefers to stay in their own home. I wish to enrich and maintain quality of life by being one familiar person who learns their interests and daily activities to ensure consistency.

* Availability. It is an important benefit I offer as an experienced caregiver to provide focused and flexible long-range support.

* Community. I am a twenty-year member of the Sioux Falls Fraternal Order of Police Associates. Being a member requires a principled standard of living and I am trained for emergencies.

* Dependable. Once we agree on a schedule I can start on a designated date. This might be 1, 2, 3 days a week or other part-time arrangements. I am also flexible if you need me for extended hours or for occasional events like a wedding, birthday or when you travel. I can either be with the resident at home or be at those places with the resident for extra support. I hope this helps answer some questions.

Shannon was hired to care for my father, in his home, as he suffered from dementia. My mother, his wife and caregiver, had died just months before. I, being the daughter that lived in Sioux Falls, needed help in caring for him and trying to keep him in his home, as long as possible. Shannon’s experience with elderly and dementia, made this a perfect fit. She understood how to make his life happier, even for each hour and a half, that she spent with him. Shannon went out of her way, often, to think of ways to amuse and entertain him. As my dad’s dementia worsened, he was relocated to a memory care facility, but we chose to keep her employed, so that she could walk with him and spend quality time. She was a very good advocate, for my dad, if he needed a voice and I wasn’t around. My father recently passed.
I would hire Shannon all over again. Denise Douthit
I am happy to recommend Shannon for home care. She not only helped me at my apartment with everyday tasks, but helped me pack and get me relocated to my retirement community when I could no longer live at home by myself. Her compassion saw me through a stressful time.

We look forward to seeing Shannon. She was referred to me and my husband Hamp by a trusted friend and we could not be happier with her home care. Her five years of support has been a godsend. Thank you, Shannon, for caring so much.
